In the spring of 2000, I contacted Marijke with hope that she would be able to help me, help my horse. Over the past several months I had watched my horse become more lethargic, tired looking and not completely accepting of a more natural lifestyle that I hoped would help his immune system regain its strength. With the past nine years in traditional boarding facilities where traditional things were done to horses which included vaccinations on a regular basis, frequent worming, box stalls, regular shoeing every four to six weeks; I was now in the company of a horse that could not appreciate a field to run in, other horses to be a part of his herd and a horse that showed no desire to even be here any longer. He kept to himself a lot and even with me he would tend to ignore, from time to time. This was the hardest thing for me to witness every day. I had learned that by removing horseshoes, providing a natural environment for the horse and just giving him time to heal, would correct all the problems however this was not the case for Jimmy. It was disheartening for me and I did not want to lose my horse, he had been such a wonderful friend. With no acknowledgement of what the future would hold, I committed to him that I would do everything in my power to help bring him back to good health; this is where Marijke stepped into the picture. With some background information on Jimmy and the history of the two of us, Marijke accessed Jimmy in a long distance telephone appointment that we had set up. What she didn’t know was that my friend was at the farm watching over Jimmy at the same time I was having my consultation with her. When we started our session Marijke noted that Jimmy was standing off in the distance, perhaps away from a more social area and was feeling uninspired and not in a place where he liked to be. With concern and respect for Jimmy and I, Marijke expressed to me how much this horse cared about me and that he knew I loved him very much. She also mentioned that he would like to see me be more gentle with myself and not to worry so much about him. I was intrigued with the information that I received this day and to close on the session Marijke  mentioned to me that Jimmy had moved to another area and that he was facing north. This place Marijke described would become Jimmy’s “safe place” in the future where I would often find him relaxing and seemed to be a place that he could completely ground himself. Marijke also let me know that he was feeling relieved that we were able to communicate.  With a combination of herbs, homeopathics and bach flowers recommended we called an end to the session. When I got off the telephone with Marijke, I called my friend Diane at the farm and told her I was on my way out now and would be there shortly. Diane mentioned to me that she observed Jimmy’s behavior during our appointment and that his final resting place was in the center of the indoor arena that the horses had access to and that he was gazing directly north up to the mountains!

Over the past six years I have used Rivas Remedies products and now understand how uncomplicated it can be to care for my horse without concerns of his health running him down again. From a horse that had massive hives and swellings all over his body, a serious sinus infection, serious bouts of depression and feet that were chronically sore, one would never know today that this was the same horse. Jimmy has not had metal shoes nailed onto his feet for the past five years and his feet have never looked better. I do a non-invasive natural trim for him and even a minor lameness problem he had over the years when he was shod is gone.

I do not believe that Jimmy would be here with me today if it was not for Marijke and her insightful way of reading his energy. I have learned so much from her about my horse and myself in the process. I know that by keeping his nutrition as natural as possible without the addition of processed foods and synthetic vitamins, his body will serve both him and I for many years to come. I am also pleased to mention that Jimmy enjoyed very much his first natural deworming with the “Para+Plus” and Vitamin C recently, it seemed that all his friends wanted to have some of it too! After the “Para+Plus” Jimmy’s parasite test at the vet was 100% clean! Thank you!
