Amber & Dude

I first found Marijke several years ago, and as they say the rest is history. I owned my barrel horse, “Dude” (Super Stars and Bars) and he is a horse with the widest variety of health problems of any horse I have ever met. I bought Dude as a yearling – he was originally bought as a stud prospect but as he got older he had too much “character” for that. This character, however, along with his natural ability, turned him into one of the best barrel horses we ever had.

Dude lived to barrel race but as a 5-year old this dream was almost crushed as Dude came down with a lung infection. We rushed the vets out and they prescribed watered down straw and steroids. Dude didn’t respond and I called Marijke. Marijke explained what was happening with his lungs and she rushed out the Flu-Ease, Bronc-Aid and a single remedy of homeopathic Tuberculinum. It was the combination of these remedies and Dude’s will to live that he made it through that winter.  He returned to barrel racing 2 years later and was placing at the top of his pack in no time.

After being back in competition for about 4 years he stopped turning his first barrel – he would get almost all the way around it and he would then spin around the opposite direction and run up the fence. It turned out that a sheath infection was hurting him when he tried to push out of the first barrel. We gave him the Infection Drops and it cleared up right away. Then Dude was back on the road again and running harder than ever, in fact he was having trouble staying on his feet. Marijke and Dude came up with a solution; Dude wanted red boots so that his feet would move faster. So Dude got his red boots and he hasn’t slipped since.

Inspired by how Marijke taught me to heal horses with a combination of her skills, knowledge, and remedies I began to study natural therapies myself, including kinesiology, touch for health, reiki, and intuition.

After all of the help that Marijke has given my family and I over the years she now sponsors Dude and I with our barrel racing. He continues to use Riva’s Remedies and has never looked better. Thank you so much Marijke for all of your help – without you we wouldn’t have Dude in our family today.
